(2) The final FAA or ATCS facility rating examination
consists
of
questions
that
are
similar
to
those
on
the
preexamination. However, they should be more in-depth requiring more
knowledge. This exam shall also consist of 50 to 100 questions about
topical areas that are required at the facility to which the trainee
is assigned.
(3) The facility rating evaluation, recorded on DA Form 3479-
1-R, tests the trainee's ability to function at each of the control
positions. This evaluation should be conducted under normal traffic
conditions.
An evaluation for a ground controlled approach rating,
however, may be conducted on a radar simulator.

PROFICIENCY TRAINING
Proficiency training ensures that a facility-rated or position-
qualified controller remains current, proficient, and up to date on
ATC policies, procedures, and equipment.
This training consists of
training that the individual has previously received but needs again
on a recurring basis. DA Form 3479-1-R shall be used to document all
proficiency training.
EXAMPLE:
Weather
(WX)
certification
or
changes
to
Army
regulations, field manuals, handbooks, and operational procedures.
6.
REMEDIAL TRAINING
Remedial training is given to correct a demonstrated weakness.
This training shall only be given to personnel who have shown that
they are no longer qualified to perform satisfactorily at a control
position at which they previously qualified.
The ATC or facility
chief determines remedial training time limits for these controllers.
Remedial training may consist of classroom training, additional time
on a position under direct supervision, or both.
7.
MANAGEMENT TRAINING
a. This training prepares personnel to progress from a controller
to a facility chief.
Management training is an ongoing program
wherein each supervisor continuously trains subordinates to assume
supervisory positions. All military personnel in grades E5 and above
training in facility administration and management on completion of
the facility training.
As a minimum, this training shall include
those subjects listed in the FTM, Chapter 13, and an examination.
b. Failure to satisfactorily complete management training shall
not be used as a reason for a reclassification action.
The
examination points out an individual's shortcomings so that they may
be corrected.
The administrative management exam shall be
administered within 30 days after an individual becomes facility-
rated.
If an unsatisfactory score is received, the exam shall be
administered once every 30 days until a passing score is achieved.
