(1) To ensure a thorough understanding of the assigned mission, the operations officer or
member of the chain of command briefs flight platoon commanders, mission commanders, and flight
leaders as applicable.
(2) After the briefing, a copy of DA Form 5484-R (Aircrew Mission Briefing) is retained in the
unit files for at least 30 days.
