DA Form 3479-8-R (TAPS)
12.
TACTICAL APPROACH PUBLICATIONS SYSTEM
Critical information about tactical approach procedures at
instrumented heliports and airfields must be distributed to aviators.
When the Threat dictates, the ATC officer will develop rear tactical
or standard instrument procedures (T/SIPs) and apply terminal
instrument
procedure
(TERP)
standards
for
obstacle-clearance
criteria. TM 95-226 contains TERP standards.
13. PREPARATION AND DISTRIBUTION
a. The ATC officer will develop T/SIPs using TM 95-226. He also
will prepare and distribute TAPS messages to the ATC battalion
tactical operations center. The message must be prepared accurately
and sent by the most expeditious means. A copy of the message shall
be forwarded to the ATC liaison office of the Army airspace command
aviation units.
b. Some of the information in the TAPS message may be classified
and shall be transmitted and handled as such. DA Form 3479-8-R shall
be completed as shown in Figure 2-4.
14. REPRODUCTION
DA Form 3479-8-R will be locally reproduced on 8 1/2- by 11-inch
distributed in the field environment. Local reproduction allows the
form to be distributed to the aviation battalions that the company
supports so the aviator in the field can copy the information during
tactical flight planning. A copy of the form for local reproduction
is found in Appendix A.
