proposed flight route. En route stations receiving an INREQ will seek information about the aircraft by
checking station records and inquiring at all airports that can be contacted by interphone or local
telephone. They will reply to the INREQ within 30 minutes. The departure station holds the INREQ in
suspense, and the tie-in station notifies the RCC. If the aircraft is located, the INREQ originator
transmits a numbered message giving the aircraft's location to all INREQ addressees.

(2) RCC Alert. An RCC alert is established as soon as possible after the INREQ has been
transmitted. Within 1 hour and 30 minutes after ETA, the destination station transmits an ALNOT if
replies to the INREQ have been negative or information indicates that the aircraft may have crashed.
