OVERVIEW
TASK DESCRIPTION
In this lesson you will learn to handle aircraft accidents and
incidents, to take the appropriate action based on the circumstances
involved, and to follow the instructions in TC 95-93.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE
TASK:
Describe the procedures and duties of the air traffic
control (ATC) or facility chief, training supervisor,
shift supervisor, or controller-in-charge (CIC).
CONDITION:
You must be able to perform ATC or facility chief,
training
supervisor,
shift
supervisor,
or
CIC
responsibilities
during
and
after
accidents
and
incidents.
STANDARD:
Given The ATC or facility chief will, as soon as
possible after notification of the accident or incident,
obtain
information;
examine
equipment;
discontinue
services,
when
required;
relieve
personnel
for
examination, if appropriate; retain records; and submit
reports according to TC 95-93.

INTRODUCTION
Whenever a facility, service, or navigational aid (NAVAID) is
suspected to have been involved in an aircraft accident or incident,
action shall be taken to provide for the continuing safe, orderly,
and expeditious movement of all air traffic operating under the
jurisdiction of the ATC facility. In addition,
