INTRODUCTION
Controlling aircraft, vehicles, equipment, and personnel on the movement area of an airfield is a very
important procedure. This procedure must be mastered to perform the duties required to become an air
traffic controller working the ground control position in today's Army control tower.
1. DIRECT GROUND TRAFFIC MOVEMENT
Issue by radio or directional light signals the specific instructions that approve or disapprove the
movement of aircraft, vehicles, equipment, or personnel on the movement area.
