c. Merging Target Procedure.
(1) Except while aircraft are established in a holding pattern, apply merging target procedure to
all radar-identified aircraft at 10,000 feet and above and turbojet or Presidential aircraft regardless of
altitude. Issue traffic information to all aircraft whose targets appear likely to merge, unless the aircraft
are separated by more than the appropriate vertical separation minima.
(2) If the pilot requests, vector his aircraft to avoid merging with (so it will not touch) the target
of previously issued traffic. If you are unable to provide vector service, inform the pilot.
