d. Light Guns
Check the focus of each color. Ensure that the light gun is adjusted to provide a red light
when the switch is started.
e. Clocks
Clocks shall be checked and the time adjusted. In approach control facilities, clocks shall
correspond with the en route facility responsible for the terminal facility. In other facilities, clocks shall
agree with the approach control facility serving the airfield. At facilities not serviced by an en route or
approach control facility, clocks shall agree with time signals received from a US or friendly
government source, whichever is practical.
f. Flashlights
Ensure that all flashlights are serviceable.
19.
DAILY EQUIPMENT CHECKS
Check the primary crash alarm and wind equipment daily. Check daily the emergency
frequencies 121.5 megahertz (MHz) and 243.0 MHz. These frequencies should be checked during the
midnight shift or other periods of light traffic. In areas where two or more airfields are close, one
facility shall be assigned to begin the checks. Check also any other equipment that may be applicable
when inaccuracies are suspected.
