INTRODUCTION
Army aviation unit commanders and movement personnel must be prepared to
United States (CONUS) stations to almost any place in the world to
counter threats to this nation's interests. The self-deployment of Army
helicopters releases other transport assets for critical missions. The
ability to self-deploy helicopters is one of the Army's most important
and unique planning challenges.
Units that plan and train for self-
deployment will greatly increase their chances of a successful
deployment.
This lesson explains the self-deployment process.
