Refer to the table labeled METERS TO YARDS. This chart is used in much
the same way that the others were. To convert a distance measured in
meters to yards, read down the left column until you reach the desired
distance; then read the distance to the immediate right to get the
converted distance. For example, 400 meters is equivalent to 437 yards.
1,000-meter increments. To obtain the yards equivalent to 3,400 meters,
add the distance for 3,000 meters (3,281 yards) to the distance for 400
meters (437 yards). You then have the total yards--3,718.
